Author's right and licenses
Creative Commons licenses
All content published on OPUS is distributed under a Creative Commons CC BY license.
Creative Commons licenses encourage the circulation and reuse of works, while guaranteeing the rights of authors.
The CC BY license, for example, authorizes third parties to distribute, modify, adapt and build upon the content concerned, including for commercial use, on the sole condition that the original work is credited.
This license complies with the requirements of Horizon Europe (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/common/agr-contr/general-mga_horizon-euratom_en.pdf), appendix 5) and ANR (https://anr.fr/fr/detail/call/appel-a-projets-generique-aapg-2022/, article D.3).

OPUS and the non-assignment of rights strategy
For the publication of works in OPUS, a non-exclusive distribution agreement under a Creative Commons license is signed with the authors. This agreement details the editorial added value provided by OPUS.
Researchers therefore do not assign their copyright, in line with the strategy of non-assignment of rights enshrined in the second National Plan for Open Science and promoted by the players involved in open science. For further details on this strategy, a guide is available to researchers from the Open Science Committee: https://www.ouvrirlascience.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Guide_non_cession_des_droits_impressionA5.pdf/"
