Planetary Research

Planetary Research is the first and only diamond open-access journal dedicated to the field of planetary sciences.

Entirely community-led, Planetary Research is independent of any commercial publisher or learned society. Supported by the Planetary Research Cooperative, the journal is based on an open and transparent governance model. Its editorial board is intended to expand on a regular basis, and several current or former editors of leading journals in the field have already joined the board.

Planetary Research publishes research findings in the analysis of data from space missions and ground-based observatories; laboratory studies of extraterrestrial materials; theoretical and numerical modeling; research conducted on terrestrial analogues; studies of exoplanets and other planetary systems; research on solar or stellar phenomena; and astrobiology.

Sections of the journal are dedicated to numerical codes and datasets, in order to encourage their documentation, sharing, and reuse. Multimedia content associated with articles is disseminated through a dedicated channel.
