JEESES publishes articles related to the teaching of ecological and social issues in higher education. Socio-ecological issues refer to the challenges humanity faces in its use of the planet’s finite resources. This use has led to a dramatic overshoot of the biogeophysical boundaries that sustain ecosystems, including those of human societies.
The journal covers topics such as:
- life cycle assessment (LCA), ecodesign;
- the Anthropocene;
- didactics, pedagogy;
- environmental law;
- ecology;
- economics (degrowth, transition economics, management);
- planetary boundaries (climate, biodiversity, biogeochemical cycles, novel entities, the water cycle, etc.);
- digital technologies and new technologies;
- environmental philosophy and ethics;
- platforms;
- psychology (eco-anxiety, etc.);
- narratives and foresight (scenarios);
- finite resources (energy, materials, etc.);
- political science;
- transitions (sociology of transitions and change, transition economics).
