Diamond open access
What is Diamond Open Access?
- A fair publishing model: no fees for authors, and free, unrestricted access for all readers
- An approach to the dissemination of science, serving the advancement of knowledge and the collective interest
- An ecosystem of federated public publishers, like the Repères network in France, working to build an alternative editorial offer to commercial publishing
- A model supported by the French National Plan for Open Science, by European initiatives such as the Action Plan for Diamond Open Access and the European Diamond Capacity Hub, and worldwide by UNESCO
Why publish with OPUS?
- To make your publications accessible to as many people as possible, and give your work unrestricted visibility
- Articles, books and chapters are referenced in key databases such as CrossRef, Google Scholar, OpenAIRE Explore and OpenAlex
- Books published by Opus are published without transfer of copyright, under a Creative Commons license that sets out the conditions of reuse and guarantees the rights of the authors
- Additional distribution in open archives (HAL or other) without restrictions or embargoes, including in edited versions
For the research projects concerned, publication in Opus also enables you to fit in with funding agencies' policies in favor of open science. In particular, the French National Research Agency (ANR) recommends that book chapters and research works resulting from projects funded from 2022 onwards should be made available in immediate open access. ADEME, Anses, INCa and Inserm/ANRS are also calling for publication in works that are natively open access (joint declaration by the network of French funding agencies in favor of open science of June 29, 2020).
